2005 - The first copies of Tapas on the
Ramblas have begun arriving in stores.
I just received my first copies - the
first time I'm seeing the final product
- WOW - this is always one of the most
exciting times in this career.
- September
2005 - The same production company which
optioned the film rights for Flight of
Aquavit have just decided to option Amuse
Bouche as well. What a blast it would
be to see Russell Quant on screen. They
have a terrific screenwriter working on
a pitch document.
- September
2005 - I always hold my breath until the
first review of a new book. Of course
you hope for the best - and I've been
fortunate - but you never know - so last
Saturday I opened Quill & Quire -
a respected publication of book reviews
in Canada - and jumped for joy. Gosh that
felt good. You can check out a couple
of excerpts in the Media Reviews section.
- September
2005 - keep on checking the Events page
for new dates and locations for my Tapas
on the Ramblas tour. I've just added a
new event in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
- The
newest Russell Quant mystery, Tapas on
the Ramblas, will be off press and in
bookstores by October 2005. Yahoo!
- June
2005, at a glittering gala in New York
City, Flight of Aquavit, the second Russell
Quant mystery, won the Lambda Literary
Award (a Lammy) for Best Men's Mystery.
Just as deserving were my incredibly talented
fellow nominees: Greg Herren, Gary Zebrun,
John Morgan Wilson and Dorien Grey. And
I thought I was there just to star gaze
at all the great writers.
- Russell
on celluloid? Could happen! In June, 2005,
the film and TV rights for Flight of Aquavit
were optioned by a film production company
in Toronto

mates#1: Earlier this year I was thrilled
to tour with Flight of Aquavit and introduce
Russell Quant to California and later
New York. Both times I was fortunate enough
to be joined by my very talented colleague
(and a lovely gentleman too), author Robert
Taylor, promoting his new novel, Whose
Eye is On Which Sparrow? I'm so happy
to announce that Robert and I will once
again be joining forces at several of
the US stops of my Tapas on the Ramblas
tour - check for dates and location on
the calendar
- Tour
mates #2: I met one of my literary heroes,
Ellen Hart, at a writer's conference in
New Orleans earlier this year and I'm
excited to announce that Ellen has agreed
to join Robert Taylor and me in Minneapolis
- her wonderful home town - in November
- see details on the calendar
- Upcoming
- the 4th instalment in the Russell Quant
series is at the final draft stages and
will be heading to my wonderful editor,
Catherine Lake, in the next couple of
weeks - I can hardly believe it
